[straightens up, feeling a bit more comfortable now that she's her proper height. going through all that strangeness while in the body of a child made her feel helpless, and she really did not like that. bad memories]
...And I thought some of our PV directors were a bit over-dramatic.
...
[Meiko glances over at Momo, and remembers that-- as weird as this guy is-- he's important to her new friend. Well, she can work with this! It's not a skill set she's utilized much since coming to the VDR, but she is capable of being neutral and fairly polite in tough or odd situations. Thank you, PR handlers and awkward post-Kaito-disappearing interviews!]
...I'm Meiko. No last name. Momo-chan's told me a bit about you, but I'm afraid I don't know your name.
Yeah...sorry for messing with you back there, by the way. It was an uncommon opportunity for me to have a little fun. If it makes any difference, that travel through space and time to get to this place - that was all real. Although I will admit to taking the scenic route...
Anyway. My Momo has indeed told me a bit about you as well. Sorry for not introducing myself before - my name's Livingston, Saul Livingston. Pleasure to meet you, Miss Meiko.
Well, I guess I understand that. Have to admit it was pretty damn weird... a few months ago I would have informed anyone who told me that space, time, and reality travel via old car was possible that they were fuc-- crazy.
Weird is what I do. Can't deny that. Besides...you might have seen yourself that things can work a little differently for you, depending on where you are. After all, a marshmallow cupcake that shrinks you when you eat it - or a robot who can dramatically shift form at any time...
Or, a reasoning robot with a heart and soul, even. How long ago would people have called those very things 'impossible'? How many people still would?
And this place. The City's got a couple of notable impossibilities about it. People on Earth would never believe it.
Can't help that. People gotta choose their own priorities, after all...
Hm. [] You know, I had the travel brochure here at one point...don't know where it could've wound up by now. I do know it could probably explain the whole thing better than I.
...Momo, would you happen to know where I left it? Seen it around here lately?
You know, that's a good question. I could've left it back at the house, huh? ...Well, next time I'm there, I'll take a look around.
Anyhow, The City is...well, 'The City' is just what it's called for short. The real name is 'Any Town, USA' - don't look at me, I didn't name it. That's its actual legal name. Don't know who founded The City or why, and no one else seems to either.
But I do know it's a place that loves to play matchmaker. Travel brochure said it was rated number two out of the top ten most romantic cities in the country, and havin' been here a while myself...yeah, I can confirm it. Those 'chance meetings' you always see in romantic comedies? They happen in abundance 'round these parts. It's also a multidimensional hub, connecting to many different planes, which is one reason I was able to come here so easy. Any given moment of the day, you never know where you're gonna find yourself...or who's gonna be there with you.
My lady and I have both had a few curious adventures in this place already.
Exactly right. They are of similar breed (http://community.livejournal.com/romancedressing/profile), in fact, though I generally understand The City to be much more overt about such things than the Vocaloid haven.
Indeed. I've heard a few things myself about the goings-on in that place -- particularly where certain Kagamines are concerned.
If it makes any difference, not everyone's dating in The City either - not by my estimation, at least. If Momo's experiences and my own are indicative of the norm, happy chance meetings and platonic friendships probably occur just as often as romantic joinings.
...This bein' a multi-hub, of course, people sometimes disappear as suddenly as they arrive, so making friends here isn't necessarily risk-free. Such is life, I suppose.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It's the nature of alternate realms, though. If you can imagine something, or a combination of somethings, there's probably a universe that houses it. There are many more realms in the omniverse than there are stars in the sky.
They definitely can be. Much as it hurts for me to say it, it doesn't look like any resident or visitor is fated to stay here permanently...and I haven't seen other planes to be much different.
Hopefully I'm doing this right. Visitation Thread! And purple prose, but that's given.

^_^ I'm a bit weird like that; I love making obscure jokes that potentially no one will get.

Of course, my life was very different then.

Nice to meet you as well, Saul.
Is that so? =o I don't know that I would've guessed if you hadn't told me; that's pretty neat.
